Mismatched wiggly earrings created to reflect nature's irregularities, inspired by sea kelp and other beachcombing finds. Cast in 18ct yellow gold and set with a single twinkling diamond (0.06cts).

The longer earrings measures 5.5cm

The diamond is the traditional birthstone of April and holds significant meaning for those born in that month, thought to provide the wearer with better relationships and an increase in inner strength. Wearing diamonds is purported to bring other benefits such as balance, clarity and abundance. It is also the gem that married people traditionally gift on their 60th wedding anniversary.

The Designer

Emily Nixon's work is greatly shaped by living in West Cornwall. Beach finds are tools in the process of her making. "I love the fabric-like twists and folds of seaweed; the diversity in the contours of pebbles; the weathered character of flotsam I see washed up along the shore. This dichotomy of the precious and the organic – special stones encircled by sea-worn fragments of gold – characterises so much of my inspiration. At the heart of my work remains the sculpture and tapestry of my early fine art practice."
