Mushroom Threaded Chain Earrings

Super sweet little red mushrooms made from sterling silver and resin hand from a 5.5cm long silver chain with a 2.5cm silver ear rod. These earrings can be threaded through the ear and worn at different lengths. 

Depicting sweet animal imagery and fairy tale iconography, this collection represents the reality of life by juxtaposing cuteness with cruelty. Eastern philosophy poses the idea that opposing or seemingly contrary forces are interconnected in the natural world – darkness/light, sadness/happiness and death/light. Encompassing these ideas, and subverting popular childhood memories of innocent fairy stories and magical forest scenery, this collection brings together a fun and comical sense of the realities of human existence, with macabre undertones. 

The Designer 

Momocreatura’s jewellery explores the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

A member of the national association of jewellers, Momocreatura uses silver-smithing skills to create delicate pieces which bring to life traditional fairy stories and folk-tales. The silver and gold pieces are hand-crafted as wearable miniature sculptures full of character and dark humour. They captivate the imagination, inspired by stories which were originally intended to present moral queries, their characters often meeting a grisly fate in order to learn life lessons. With her delicate touch and precious materials, Momocreatura celebrates these fables in exquisite detail.

To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Please remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities such as sport.
