These stunning mismatched earrings contain opals and tourmalines, both of October's birthstones. Green and pink are the most common colours of tourmaline, and are beautifully set in warm 18ct yellow gold, punctuated with twinkling white diamonds above. The 12mm oval opals flash with shades of blue and electric green, also set in 18ct yellow gold and sterling silver.

Tourmaline has been said to be a stone of reconciliation, a stone that fosters compassion and cool headedness, healing and friendship. It also creates a commitment towards the completion of one’s goals and is said to protect the wearer against dangers. Opals represent confidence, faith, and hope. People who have it as their birthstone have a certain magnetism, which helps them make friends very easily. Opals were considered among the most magical of gemstones. Because of their highly desirable play of colors and stunning natural attributes, the opal was highly valued and coveted, and used to be considered the stone of kings.
