Textured silver settings encapsulate a gorgeous coin pearl with added swirly details. These 'Pearls of Wisdom' studs measure 1.5cm across, and were made specially for the Vices & Virtues showcase.

"We could not have a Vices and Virtues exhibition without including the work of our very own treasure ‘Georgina Hopkin’ A special baroque pearl of wisdom harnessed in voluptuous waves of silver. The story of the pearl created from a tiny piece of grit, that disrupts its home the oyster, and from it layer upon layer of wisdom in the form of ‘mother of pearl’ grow. The translucent nacre in its opalescent beauty. Georgina’s carved waves symbolising the turbulence of life and how in amongst that, tranquility can be found through strength and nature."

The Designer

Georgina Hopkin is a jewellery designer and maker who graduated from Central Saint Martins with a first class BA honours degree in Jewellery Design. Her love of jewellery began where she found it to be the perfect combination making 3D objects in product design, and working on the body in fashion design. The jewellery Georgina creates is very driven by material exploration, and the combination of hard and soft materials. Georgina likes to play with the idea of interaction and engaging with the jewellery, and takes a playful and humorous approach to her autonomous, wearable artwork.

Jewellery Care

To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Please remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities such as sport. Gold plating can fade back to silver over time.
