This sterling silver ring is made by casting recycled silver in Cornish beach sand, which creates the soft and natural colour, as well as the lovely texture you see on the band. Set with a 2.4mm round aquamarine in an 18ct yellow gold setting, the bright yellow of the setting and the pale blue of the aquamarine set one another off beautifully against the silver band. This piece has quite a delicate design and can be worn as part of a stacking set.

Aquamarine, the birthstone of March, has a rich colour and has long been a symbol of youth, health and hope. Its mesmerising colour ranges from pale to deep blue and are reminiscent of the sea. A perfect birthstone for March, the aquamarine creates a beautiful accent to spring and summer wardrobes. It is also the gem that married people traditionally gift on their 19th wedding anniversary.

The Designer

Justin Duance is based in Cornwall and gradually built up the workshop and business to where it is today. A keen surfer, Justin’s silver and gold contemporary jewellery is deeply influenced by the surrounding countryside and ocean. He is especially fascinated by the way they engage with each other – constantly conflicting, whilst paradoxically achieving a harmonic balance. Each piece of Justin’s jewellery shows the contrast between the textures of the land and sea. He does this by combining wood or sand with precious metals to give each design an elemental feel, or by texturing the metal in a way that creates a feeling of organic movement.

Jewellery Care

To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Please remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities such as sport.

Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 24ct gold over 925 sterling silver, while the gold will not fade, it may tarnish if in contact with cosmetics.
