The Designer
Courtney Durka is a London based contemporary jeweller whose work is deeply inspired by natural forms and textures. Based in Greenwich, Courtney’s work reflects the connection she feels to the River Thames, taking inspiration from the textures and forms found on the foreshore.
Drawing inspiration from the flowing form of the river, Courtney transforms precious metals into wearable pieces of art that echo the rhythm of the water, the dappling of the sunlight on the surface and the moving currents hidden below.
Since graduating from Central Saint Martins, Courtney has developed her collection of work utilising the lost wax casting process, amongst other traditional jewellery techniques to form a body of work that highlighted her passion for texture and form. She focuses on slow, intentional making that is sustainable and ethical, using recycled metals from trusted suppliers.
