Pearls, the birthstone of June, have long been associated with purity, humility and innocence. So it may be said that the meaning of the June birthstone is "sweet simplicity". It is also the gem that married coupled traditionally gift on their 30th wedding anniversary.
The Designer
Indian jeweller Poppy Dandiya has always been one of our favourite makers. Influences from ancient spiritual cultures have embodied his ruggedly beautiful jewels with timeless appeal. Now retired from making to give his full attention to his meditation & yoga practice, we are lucky to share a treasure trove of his final collection.
Poppy’s designs have an organic sculptural quality, incorporating his Indian heritage with a dynamic appreciation of the West, and involve several techniques that he has created and that are unique to him. The jewellery he makes has, over time, been diversely described both as very modern and very ancient.
