A glowing reclaimed Ethiopian Welo opal surrounded by juicy blue and orange sapphires and rubies in solid 9ct yellow gold. Threaded onto a sleek 9ct gold curb chain, the double bail moves beautifully along the chain and to be worn close to your heart. Whether given as a token of love, or worn as a personal talisman, this necklace will act as a little memento; reminding you are loved and give you all the strength you need!

Opal, the birthstone of October, represents confidence, faith, and hope. People who have it as their birthstone have a certain magnetism, which helps them make friends very easily. Opals were considered among the most magical of gemstones. Because of their highly desirable play of colours and stunning natural attributes, the opal was highly valued and coveted, and used to be considered the stone of kings. It is also the stone given to celebrate 14 years of marriage.

The Designer

Growing up in London’s East End, Ciara Bowles’ aesthetic was shaped by a vibrant mix of cultures, paired with a deep fascination for medieval history and adornment. An intuitive maker from a young age, her passion for crafting beautiful objects naturally led her to jewellery design. Her collections centre on romance, detail, and symbolism—featuring familiar shapes like hearts, stars, and circles combined with antique intaglios and vivid gemstones. Designed to stack and link, the pieces invite personal expression and storytelling.

Colour plays a vital role in her work, evoking emotion and memory. Using lost wax casting, she blends ancient techniques with modern design to create playful, intricate fine jewellery that’s both luxurious and timeless.

After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2012, Ciara worked with leading jewellery brands in Hatton Garden before launching her own collection in 2020. Committed to ethical production and craftsmanship, each piece is made by hand—designed to become a future heirloom with its own unique story.
