Kinetic Forget Me Not Locket
In this dainty Forget Me Not locket, five tiny 9ct yellow gold petals sit nestled inside its outer sterling silver sepals. As the locket stem is pushed up, the flower unfolds, revealing a sparkly central diamond. The diamond is set into a super sweet ‘mini flower’ shape made in a brighter 18ct yellow gold, reflecting the flowers vibrant bee-attracting yellow centers. Alongside sits two more buds illustrating the different stages of bloom; one totally closed and the next with a tiny curled up flower starting to emerge.
Forget Me Nots (Myosotis sylvatica) are symbolic of true love and respect and are also celebrated as the national flower of Alaska. With such a poetic and sentimental name, this sweet flower is also worn and planted as a symbol of remembrance for a lost loved one. The Designer
Victoria Walker grew up in Cumbria and moved to Cornwall in 2002. After originally studying Fine Art and Illustration, she fell in love with jewellery making and graduated with a first BA (Hons) degree in Jewellery & Silversmithing at Truro College in 2009. During the course, she won the Goldsmiths’ Company Precious Metal Bursary award for her designs.
Specialising in fine, kinetic jewellery, Victoria’s work is inspired by the beauty of natural forms; her signature botanical lockets featuring miniature articulated flowers that gently emerge and unfold from within. These moving designs are inspired by the sentimental nature of lockets, in that sometimes the most precious and treasured elements are hidden beneath the surface. Using traditional techniques with precious metals and diamonds, every tiny petal is hand formed and precisely engineered to create these beautiful impressions of the natural world.
Jewellery Care
To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Please remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities such as sport.
