Uma Treasury Ring
Introducing the Uma ring, a collaborative design between Gill Wing Jewellery and Flora Bhattachary for the Gill Wing Treasury. The crisp, Art Deco shapes combined with the warm 14ct yellow gold give this ring a feeling of balance and strength. Uma is another name for the Goddess Parvati, who represents harmony, nourishment, benevolence and tranquility. We love the deep green of the 0.85ct trapeze tourmaline and the soft warmth of the 0.46ct brown round and princess cut diamonds.
The Mahal collection is inspired by the amazing Art Deco buildings along the coastal strip of Marine Drive in Mumbai. The buildings draw on European Deco style but have a unique Indian twist. Many of the buildings feature Hindu Goddesses and reference mythology - so each of these rings is named after a female Goddess.

The Designer
Since graduating with an MA from London's Central St Martins, Flora has explored her connections with India through her signature sculptural designs. Investigating ancient mythology, memory and personal history, Flora creates recognisably bold and feminine jewellery. Each collection takes us on a journey, revealing an underlying symbolism abd meaning personal to the wearer. Her jewellery is crafted from recyled gold and vibrant gems in small editions and of a kind design from her London studio.
"I fell in love with jewellery early when I was given an ancient craved bird at an archaelogical site in Taxila. I kept my little bird close and it encapsulates my passion for India and its ancient mythology."
