Golden Curved Hoop Earrings

Elegant tapered curved hoop earrings made from sterling silver with vibrant gold vermeil and a brushed finish. The form of these hoops are inspired from large scale sculptural objects, translated into small wearable jewellery pieces. Handmade with care and finished to a refined standard, each piece from the 'Curved Curves' series offers a modern interpretation of simplicity and timeless elegance.

The Designer

Sheng Zhang is an award-winning contemporary jewellery and silversmithing designer maker whose designs are usually influenced and inspired by minimalist art, contemporary architecture and geometrical form.  Associating with boundary, volume, silhouette, capacity, shadow and subtle detail, his practice concentrates on exploring the connection of internal and external, positive and negative space in his vessels and containers.

Sheng’s work demonstrates an aesthetics of minimal style, purity of visual language and ethos of moderate. Questioning the relationship between the work and its surroundings as well as the role of function in a conceptual and aesthetic work of art.

He graduated from an MFA Jewellery course at the Edinburgh College of Art, having previously studied at the School of Jewellery Birmingham City University and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

Jewellery Care

To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Please remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities such as sport. 

Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 18ct to 22ct gold over 925 sterling silver, while the gold will not fade, it may tarnish if in contact with cosmetics.
