Medium Watercast Hoops
Golden nuggets of gold plated sterling silver have been formed using the water-casting technique, and hang on 9ct yellow gold sleeper hoops. Each earring is unique and is inspired by textures found on the Jurassic coastline in Dorset.
The Designer
Emily Bailey creates unique and sustainable jewels using recycled metals, which are all designed and handcrafted in her north London studio.
Her jewellery aims to delve into cultural rituals, having a strong narrative on the part that jewellery has to play in our daily lives. Emily draws inspiration from the natural decay of ancient treasures whilst in-keeping with a raw yet contemporary aesthetic. This is achieved using ancient forms of jewellery making, including lost wax casting, sand casting and cuttlefish casting.
Emily began making jewellery in 2015 when studying at Birmingham's Jewellery School, graduating in BA (hons) Jewellery Design and Related Products in 2018. In this time she focused her work predominantly around sustainability and organic forms and is also where she discovered the process of casting.
