Natalie Laura Ellen

Natalie Laura Ellen is an illustrator who creates printed patterns inspired by nature, stories and moments across a range of home textiles, gifts and stationery.

Much of Natalie's inspiration is drawn from the rich flora and fauna of the British countryside. The plants cultivated in her balcony garden, along with the wildlife they attract, also play a significant role in shaping her creative direction. Her design process typically begins with hand-drawn sketches, which she further develops through a variety of disciplines, including illustration, painting, and traditional printmaking methods such as lino printing. Once complete, these designs are digitally refined and transformed into repeat patterns for a diverse range of textile products.

Natalie has worked in the textiles industry for over a decade. After earning a degree in Surface Pattern Design, she began her career as an in-house designer for a digital textile manufacturer in Manchester. There, she collaborated with a broad spectrum of clients, from major high street retailers to independent designer-makers. This experience proved invaluable, strengthening her commercial awareness and creative confidence. In early 2017, after developing her own collections alongside full-time work, Natalie launched her independent practice. Her designs are brought to life from her home studio in Manchester, and all of her products are proudly made in Britain.
