Quazi Design
Born out of a partnership between a designer and the local magazine distributor, Quazi Design started in 2010 in order to create much needed employment in Eswatini, Southern Africa.
What started as a trial in design for social impact and has become a small thriving business with a solid community of local women artisans. Sustainable design, ethical production, transparency, and craftsmanship is at the forefront of Quazi Design's values. They jewellery is all handmade by women that are employed full time at the workshop with permanent contracts, made of a small team that love to collaborate and create.
Quazi Design has developed new and innovative techniques using only waste paper and want to change the perception of recycled materials. They transform these waste magazines and newspapers into original designs, using their own simple yet pioneering techniques at the workshop. The team make each product by hand, with basic tools and the sun’s rays.
