DUALITY Reflection Earrings by Shirani Fernando

The earrings made for the Duality exhibition is a collection of contemporary style earrings highlighting the concept of duality by combining contrasting colours, textures, geometric shapes and forms inspired by architecture. Specially a window panel design from Sri Lanka, where the artist is originally from. Gold plating, oxidising and different materials such as acrylic and metal have been used to highlight duality and to enhance the designs.

The Designer 

Shirani Fernando is a jeweller based in Essex and originally from Sri Lanka. Her work is inspired by nature, architecture, 3D sculptural forms. Shirani likes making contemporary wearable art jewellery, and uses traditional and digital techniques in her work. Creating surface textures and adding contrasting colours to make the jewellery stand out is a key feature in her work, as well as using recycled silver and ethically sourced gemstones. Shirani's latest collection Light and Shadows is inspired by a window panel from Sri Lanka. 

Jewellery Care

To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Please remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities such as sport.
