How do I choose the right wedding ring?

The right wedding ring should feel comfortable, suit your personal style and work with your everyday life. Start by considering whether you’re drawn to something classic and polished, organic and textured, or more contemporary and unusual. The metal, colour, width, profile and finish can all make a difference to how the ring looks and feels on your hand.

It’s also worth thinking about your lifestyle, your budget and whether the ring will be worn alongside an engagement ring. During a wedding ring consultation, our friendly team can help you try on a variety of styles, compare different metals and finishes, and find the right size and fit.

If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, we can also discuss creating a bespoke wedding ring that feels completely personal to you.

I’ve never worn a ring before. Will it feel comfortable?

It can take a little time to get used to wearing a ring, but choosing the right size, width, profile and weight can make a big difference to how comfortable it feels.

At our Islington gallery, you can try on a variety of wedding rings and have your ring size professionally measured. Our friendly team will help you compare different styles and find one that feels natural and comfortable for everyday wear.

Do you offer wedding rings for men?

Yes. We have a dedicated collection of men’s rings, including men’s wedding bands in a range of metals, widths, textures and finishes. You’re also very welcome to explore our full wedding ring collection; the most important thing is choosing a design that feels comfortable and right for you.

Visit our Islington gallery to try on different styles and have your ring size professionally measured, or book a free wedding ring consultation if you’d like some friendly guidance.

Do our wedding rings have to match?

Not at all. Some couples love the idea of matching wedding rings, while others choose completely different designs that reflect their individual styles.

You might decide to include a subtle shared detail, such as the same metal, finish or texture, or simply choose the rings that each feel most comfortable and personal to you.

If one of you would prefer not to wear a ring, that’s completely fine too. There are no rules; it’s about finding what feels right for you both.

How do I choose a wedding ring that complements my engagement ring?

Start by looking at the shape and setting of your engagement ring. A straight wedding band may sit neatly alongside some designs, while others may work better with a shaped or contoured wedding ring that follows the outline of the setting.

You can choose a similar metal, width and finish for a beautifully coordinated look, or create contrast with a different texture, colour or style. There are no strict rules; the most important thing is that the two rings feel comfortable together and reflect your individual style.

During your consultation, our team can help you try different wedding rings alongside your engagement ring. If you have an antique or unusually shaped ring, bring it with you so we can explore what works best. If a standard band doesn’t sit comfortably alongside it, we can discuss adapting an existing design or creating a bespoke wedding ring especially to complement it.

Can you create a bespoke or custom wedding ring?

Yes. If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for within our wedding ring collection, we can help you explore creating a bespoke or custom wedding ring with one of our independent designers or our in-house goldsmith.

During your consultation, we’ll discuss your preferred style, metal, width, surface finish and fit, as well as your budget and whether the ring will be worn alongside an engagement ring. We’ll also provide a professional ring-sizing service and advise you on the options available before arranging a quotation.

Whether you’re drawn to something classic and polished, organic and textured, or completely individual, our friendly team will help you create a wedding ring that feels personal to you.

Can you use gold from my old jewellery to create a wedding ring?

It may be possible to reuse or remodel gold from an existing piece of jewellery to create a new wedding ring. This can be a lovely way to preserve the sentimental meaning of a family heirloom or a piece you no longer wear.

What is possible will depend on the type, purity, condition and quantity of the gold, as well as the wedding-ring design you have in mind. Our team can examine your jewellery and talk you through the available options during a bespoke consultation.

Explore our bespoke gallery for inspiration, or book a free wedding ring consultation to discuss your ideas.

Where are your wedding rings made?

Our wedding rings are all made within the UK by our network of more than 50 independent designer-makers or by our design team.

What metals are available, and which is best for a wedding ring?

Our wedding ring collection brings together beautiful designs in platinum, yellow gold, white gold, silver and oxidised silver, with gold available in a choice of carats. Some designs can also be adapted in your preferred metal through our bespoke wedding ring service.

Choosing a metal is a wonderfully personal part of finding your wedding ring. You may love the warm, timeless character of yellow gold and our classic wedding rings, prefer the cooler, contemporary appearance of white gold or platinum, or be drawn to the distinctive finish of silver or oxidised silver.

As well as the look you love, it’s worth considering your lifestyle, budget and whether the ring will be worn alongside an engagement ring.

If you’re unsure which colour will suit you, our friendly team would be delighted to help you compare the different metals, try on a selection of rings and find the option that feels right for you during a personalised wedding ring consultation.

What do the different gold carats mean?

The carat tells you how much pure gold is contained within the metal. 18ct gold contains 75% pure gold, 14ct contains 58.5%, and 9ct contains 37.5%. The remaining metal is made up of carefully selected alloys, which help create different colours and characteristics.

A higher carat isn’t automatically the right choice for everyone. The colour you prefer, your lifestyle and your budget can all help you decide. Our team would be happy to show you the different options and help you find the gold that feels right for your wedding ring.

What’s the best metal for an everyday wedding ring?

Platinum and gold are popular choices for wedding rings designed to be worn every day, but the best option for you will depend on your lifestyle, preferred colour, budget and how you would like your ring to age.

Platinum is naturally white and durable, while 18ct gold offers a beautiful, rich colour in yellow, white or rose tones. 14ct and 9ct gold may provide practical options at different price points. Every metal will develop small marks and character with regular wear, and some finishes may require more care than others.

Our friendly team can explain the differences and help you find a metal that suits you. Visit our Islington gallery to try on different options, or book a free wedding ring consultation for personal guidance.

Will the metal in my wedding ring change colour over time?

Your wedding ring is made to be worn and loved every day, so it’s completely normal for its surface to develop a little character over time.

Yellow gold and platinum retain their natural colour, although fine marks and a softer patina may develop with wear. Silver can tarnish, oxidised finishes may gradually soften, and some white-gold finishes may need refreshing over time. Exactly how a ring changes will depend on its metal, finish and how it is worn and cared for.

Our team can talk you through how each metal and finish is likely to age and help you choose one that suits your lifestyle.

How much do wedding rings cost?

The cost of a wedding ring can vary depending on the metal, width, weight, gemstones and level of detail involved. Our collection includes simple 9ct gold wedding bands from around £300, alongside distinctive handmade and designer wedding rings costing several thousand pounds.

If you’re considering a bespoke or custom wedding ring, we’ll discuss your ideas and budget during your consultation before arranging a personalised quotation.

There is no right amount to spend—the most important thing is finding a ring you love and feel comfortable wearing every day. Whether you have a particular budget in mind or aren’t sure where to begin, you can book a free wedding ring consultation and our friendly team will help you explore the options available.

How far in advance should we order our wedding rings?

We recommend beginning your search around four to five months before your wedding, giving you plenty of time to explore different styles, find the right fit and make any necessary adjustments. The making process is usually six weeks, but it is better to allow yourself extra time to choose.

If your wedding is approaching sooner, please don’t worry. Book a free wedding ring consultation or get in touch with our team. We’ll be happy to explain the options available and let you know what may be possible within your timeframe. We carry a wide selection in stock too, so you may find a ring to take away on the day or have resized for a shorter deadline.

Can wedding rings be resized, engraved or personalised?

Many of our wedding rings can be resized, engraved or personalised, although the options available will depend on the design, metal and individual designer.

We provide a professional ring-sizing service and can arrange for selected rings to be resized for a comfortable fit. Engraving may also be available for initials, a meaningful date or a short personal message, depending on the ring.

If you’re looking for something more individual, we can work with our independent designers or in-house goldsmith to adapt an existing design—perhaps by changing the metal, finish or precious stones—or create a completely bespoke wedding ring.

Explore our bespoke gallery for inspiration, or book a free wedding ring consultation to discuss what may be possible.

How do I pay for my ring?

You can place your order with a 50% deposit, with the balance payable on collection when your piece is ready. Other payment options can sometimes be available, so please do ask our team.
