Chameli Floral Studs
Sapphire, the birthstone of September, is most desired in its pure, rich blue colour but is present in almost every colour including pink, yellow and green. In the Middle Ages the gem was believed to protect those close to you from harm and also represented loyalty and trust. It is also the gem that married couples traditionally gift on their 45th wedding anniversary.
The Designer
Since graduating with an MA from London's Central St Martins, Flora has explored her connections with India through her signature sculptural designs. Investigating ancient mythology, memory and personal history, Flora creates recognisably bold and feminine jewellery. Each collection takes us on a journey, revealing an underlying symbolism and meaning personal to the wearer. Her jewellery is crafted from recycled gold and vibrant gems in small editions and of a kind design from her London studio.
"I fell in love with jewellery early when I was given an ancient craved bird at an archaeological site in Taxila. I kept my little bird close and it encapsulates my passion for India and its ancient mythology."
