Crested Sapphire And Diamond Adakite North Ring
This beautiful ring is distinguished by a large central deep green sapphire in a rocky textured setting, offset by a natural white diamond on either side; characteristically irregular and as if naturally formed. Created in Cornwall by Emily and cast in 18ct recycled, refined yellow gold using the traditional lost wax process. Set with a unique central oval sapphire with natural white diamonds on either side.
Sapphire, the birthstone of September, is most desired in its pure, rich blue colour but is present in almost every colour including pink, yellow and green. In the Middle Ages the gem was believed to protect those close to you from harm and also represented loyalty and trust. It is also the gem that married couples traditionally gift on their 45th wedding anniversary.
Ring size Q 1/2, please get in touch regarding resizing.
The Designer
Emily Nixon's work is greatly shaped by living in West Cornwall. Beach finds are tools in the process of her making. "I love the fabric-like twists and folds of seaweed; the diversity in the contours of pebbles; the weathered character of flotsam I see washed up along the shore. This dichotomy of the precious and the organic – special stones encircled by sea-worn fragments of gold – characterises so much of my inspiration. At the heart of my work remains the sculpture and tapestry of my early fine art practice."
