The Designer

Green Wave empowers women in West Africa overcoming abuse to achieve financial independence. They provide women who have experienced abuse with support to achieve financial independence. The silversmiths are provided with skills training, using therapeutic and traditional silversmithing techniques, and employment with a fair wage and in a safe environment.

Founded by Harriet Batchelor, her style is recognised by its deep textures and organic shapes - and for pushing boundaries by designing through experimentation and play. She specialises in ending violence against women and girls through social norm change - from gender-based violence to female genital mutilation.

The contemporary designs emulate the organic textures of the natural environment of Dakar - sea, beaches and marine life. These simple and elegant designs highlight the natural textures of the materials they were created in. Like the natural world, no two pieces of jewellery are the same - each inscribed with their own unique texture.

Jewellery Care

To look after your jewellery we recommend it must not be worn in the bath, shower or whilst swimming and we advise any perfume or hairspray is to be applied before putting on your jewellery to avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics.
