Golden Swirl Ring
Blue sapphires spiral round this shining dome of 9ct yellow gold, inspired by swirling whirlpools. Set on a highly polished 2mm band. Made specially for the Poetry In Ocean showcase, drawing inspiration from extracts of Louise Walker's poem Manicure:
"Shall I dabble in dawn shallows,
Scatter sapphires there at noon"

The Designer
Courtney Durka is a London based designer, recently graduated from BA Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins. During her time at university she studied themes of value within her work, with her graduate collection being an exploration of the perceived value of coins versus their actual worth. She has continued this approach in her practice, inspired by the symbolism of coins and perceived value, within her new collection of work.
