Silver shell fragment studs
One-of-a-kind monocast shell fragments collected on the British coastline, cast in 925 sterling silver.
Studs measure approx 10mm across, each shell is beautifully unique due to the mono casting process so the earrings may vary slightly.
Julie Mellor is a lover of ancient processes, monocasting and hand forging unique jewellery and objects which look to the first precious items made and treasured by our early ancestors. Julie teaches applied arts jewellery and metal work at university and has a love of keeping hands on processes alive. She performs the lost wax process herself from start to finish from making the one-off moulds, to melting and pouring recycled precious metals in their liquid state.
