These beautiful swirls are hand-carved from wax with textured details and cast in recycled 9ct yellow gold, with a stunning 0.42ct oval opal set in the middle. The Lightning Ridge opal has a shimmery blue green iridescence and is safely set in a rub over bezel setting. The ring sits fairly close to the finger, making this ring very comfortable to wear.

Opal, the birthstone of October, represents confidence, faith, and hope. People who have it as their birthstone have a certain magnetism, which helps them make friends very easily. Opals were considered among the most magical of gemstones. Because of their highly desirable play of colors and stunning natural attributes, the opal was highly valued and coveted, and used to be considered the stone of kings. It is also the stone given to celebrate 14 years of marriage.

The Designer

Georgina Hopkin is a London-based jewellery designer and maker whose work blends traditional fine jewellery techniques with contemporary design. Working from her studio in East London, Georgina creates intriguing jewellery through the use of material exploration  and unusual or irregular gemstones. At the heart of her jewellery brand lies a fascination with modern-day talismans—small, detailed treasures that feel both ancient and alive. Each piece is intentionally imperfect: molten, wobbly, and organic, as though unearthed from an ancient time.

Originally from a small town in Surrey, Georgina moved to London to study Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins, where she graduated with First Class Honours. Drawn to the city's creative energy, she found inspiration in its diversity, pace, and openness to experimentation—elements that continue to shape her work today
