The Rainbow Flower Beetle, Anthaxia nitidula, belongs to the Buprestidae family, known for their metallic colours. They undergo complete metamorphosis, with larvae feeding on decaying wood. Their iridescent sheen is now just for show; it helps regulate body temperature. These beetles play a vital role in nutrient cycling within ecosystems, showcasing their ecological significance beyond their dazzling appearance.
